Lake Powell Fishing Report March 14th

Fat Lake Powell Stripers

First trip out fishing with customers today March 14th. We caught 22 stripers and missed several. We were trolling with gizzard shad divers. in 30 to 50 feet of water with lures diving to 18 to 20 feet down. The water temp is still a little chilly, around 50 degrees starting out in the morning warming up to 52 degrees by the end of the day. We have been getting quite a bit of rain at the top of the state. Temperatures are warming up, which is a good thing. The stripers don’t seem to want to bite frozen anchovies so trolling is the way to go. There are several fisherman scouting for largemouth and smallmouth bass for a tournament this coming weekend. One of the fisherman I talked to today didn’t have any luck. The water temp is still a bit too cool for LM and SM bass. If you want to catch them you need to fish the bait real slow, give them time to get to the bait, and the bite will be very light. Our bookings are filling up quick so give us a call and make reservations. Call Mike at 928-660-1020. March and April and May will be killer months!! We would love to take you fishing!!
