LAKE POWELL FISHING REPORT MAY 7

Finally the water has warmed up to the low 60’s!! The lake is coming up, they say a foot a day. The stripers are biting anchovies and the small mouth and large mouth bass are biting and the walleyes (here and there). The stripers are about 30 to 50 feet down. Paul has been taking most of the customers out and they are catching about 40 or so each trip. The other day he hooked into a fish that he fought for almost 3 hours. He wasn’t sure if it was a carp or a big striper, so he stayed with it. He finally pulled in a 28 pound carp!! Oh well he had fun doing it. The carp actually hit a crank bait in shallow water and when it came out of its mouth it hooked him in the tail! Any time you foul hook a fish, you are off to the races, they fight twice as hard. Give us a call and let us take you fishing. 928-660-1020 or 928-645-5122 Good luck.
